Although I can't even remember how I found out about it, I joined The Splendid Sampler, a 100 block mystery quilt along. I'm hoping to be able to keep up with it, taking a bit of time for myself each week on something that isn't a portable embroidery or knitting project. It's also (hopefully) going to be hard to get overwhelmed, since I can only make two tiny blocks a week. I'm using Cotton & Steel basics on a white background and hoping the finished project will sort of look like a flutter of confetti, tons of color everywhere! The first block was released on Valentine's Day and was, appropriately enough, a heart.
I've been posting more progress photos on my new instagram account, along with tons of embroidery I need to blog about. Eventually I'll finish a knitting project, but it's sadly taken a back seat after I injured my wrist by (surprise!) knitting too much a year and a half ago. Although I can knit again, if I don't keep it in check (roughly 45 minutes a day at most) I'm horribly sorry for a week. Knowing I'll never knit through an entire movie again is sort of sad, but LOOK! Embroidery! Quilts!
