Since I made Kate's apple dress I have made four dresses, seven kerchiefs, three pairs of bloomers and a top. I have blogged none of this. In trying to come up with some blog motivation, I have decided to set up a challenge for myself. Until Kate is two, I am going to make a large majority of her wardrobe just because I can. I will still buy onesies, t-shirts, cotton socks, leggings, tights, pajamas and shoes since I do not sew with knits or leather or have a snap press. I have been looking around online for inspiration and Small and their blog Smaller have taken on a whole new dimension for me now that I have a girl. I also subscribed to Ottobre. I have a few more summer outfits to make, but then I'm going to start planning her fall/winter collection. I can hardly wait! If Project Kate goes well, I may challenge myself to do the same for my own clothes.
Summer 2010 Collection -- Dress Two
After I sewed the Little Fish in a Big Pond kit, I wanted to make another peasant dress and ended up buying the Sweet Little Dress pattern from Leila and Ben. It is a well put together pattern with clear instructions, completely worth buying to save the time of drafting five sizes of a raglan dress. This fabric was a present from my mom. I'd had it for a while and I think it is an unexpected but still very sweet print for a little girl.
