It took me a month to knit this shop sample sweater. Normally this would have taken me two weeks. I so need to get knitting back into my life. But enough of the self pity. Here's the sweater!
Pattern: Relaxed Cardigan from Modern Classics by Louisa Harding
Yarn: Louisa Harding Fauve
Since Amy and Sheryl started paying for shop samples instead of letting you keep the sweater, I've had no problem handing off the finished projects. It was the wrong size, wrong color, wrong design, whatever. But this sweater? This sweater I love. I would have never thought that a ribbon yarn with a hint of shimmer would have turned into the sweater that made me wish I could keep it. I would happily knit another, but Fauve? Not a cheap yarn. I'm using my shop credit to pay for my Addi Click interchangeable needles, so no Fauve sweater for me. I'm wondering if I would like the sweater as much with a yarn substitute.
Since my husband was out of town for my birthday, we celebrated late. He got me birthday flowers.
Dozens of flowers made into a cake. It came with candles, which I reasoned I should light because the flowers were so well hydrated they'd most likely not start on fire. It was so pretty lit, I'm glad I did it.
So, as I enter this new and exciting decade I'm trying to figure out a way to keep up with all of my real life responsibilities and still get my craft on. Cleaning ladies aren't really an option just now, so any suggestions?
